Who Are We Looking to Reach?

July 16, 2025

While we desire to see all people come to know, love, and obey Jesus as Lord over all their lives, our primary mission focus is on three groups of people: (1) the children of our church, and (2) unbelievers in the area who are most likely conservative and would align with historically Protestant cultural positions, and (3) Christian refugees in squishy/woke churches that are hungry for a biblically substantive church family.

First, mission begins at home. Scripture testifies that children are one of God’s greatest blessings and a heritage from the Lord ( Ps 127:3-5), and also that God’s people must take care to instruct their own children in the faith, lest they abandon it when they are grown ( Deut 6:4-9). All CTK families should be equipped to proclaim the gospel to their children and instruct them in Christian obedience.

Second, our church building’s location and accessibility make us well suited to accommodate people who commute from all over the greater Cincinnati area. What constitutes a reasonable commute is a matter of individual preference.

Third, we recognize that our ministry style and preferences are not the norm for our area (see question #3 below), so we will draw in people from all over the region, some of whom may travel a long distance to get here. Since our building enables us to offer Sunday School classes, those who drive from further distances can receive more benefit from a single trip.

Thus, CTK is not a parish church that focuses exclusively on people within a short drive to Ft. Thomas, but a regional church that draws people who are looking for our distinct blend of ministry philosophy and emphases. Our ministry priorities and decisions are primarily tailored to like-minded individuals who share our traditional cultural values.

CTK’s evangelism efforts can be summarized with three words: we are seeking to reach people where our people (1 ) live, (2) work, and (3) worship.

Live. CTK members are urged to share the gospel in their homes and neighborhoods.

Work. CTK members are urged to share the gospel in their workplaces and with coworkers.

Worship. CTK members gather for worship in Ft. Thomas, thus we will host outreaches and evangelistic events in Northern Kentucky and surrounding areas. Other outreach events may also be planned as we see need and opportunity to bear witness to Christ in our city and region.
